Tips On Sealing Granite Counter Tops
Do you have granite counter tops that you notice keep looking older and older by the day? If this is the case then I can almost guarantee you that your granite counter tops are losing their seal. What most people don’t realize is that having the proper seal on your granite counter tops is a must. If you don’t Sealing Tips
Hire a professional – One of the first things I would recommend doing when thinking about sealing my granite counter tops is to hire a professional to do it. The reason I would hire a professional is because I know they will do a much better job than I would. Not only will a professional do a much better job than I would, they would probably guarantee their work and so if the seal didn’t last as long as they said it would, they would come back and do it again for free.
Double seal – Whether you hire a professional to put on the sealer or you do it yourself I would highly recommend doing a double seal. The reason why you should do a double seal is because 1 coat is just not enough. For something like a main counter in the kitchen or the bathroom you will have items on it that will scratch it and if you only have 1 seal then the odds of it coming off are much higher. Trust me, for the cost of a second seal coat you will greatly benefit from it.
Like I said before, sealing your granite counter tops is very important and that is why I recommend that you do it at least 4 times a year or whenever you see the color start to change. Just remember that a little bit of money here and there spent on maintenance will prolong the life of your granite counter tops.
